Prospecting

Overview

Matchbook Prospecting is a powerful tool designed to help users efficiently identify and connect with potential prospects. It streamlines the process of gathering targeted data and building a qualified list of leads, making it easier to drive business development efforts. The tool enables users to search for prospects based on specific criteria and customize lists that align with their outreach goals. With Matchbook Prospecting, users can save time, improve accuracy, and enhance their lead generation strategy.

Prospecting is a crucial step in the sales and marketing process, helping businesses identify and reach the right prospects. In Matchbook, the prospecting feature allows users to explore extensive data sets, perform targeted searches, and organize their findings into actionable lists. This functionality is divided into two main sections to optimize your workflow:

1. Search Data

In the Search Data section, users can filter and search through various data sources to identify potential prospects.

2. Build a List

Once the ideal prospects are identified, the Build a List section allows users to compile and manage their leads in an organized manner.

  • From the left-hand navigation bar, click on Prospecting.

This method of prospecting has been discussed in detail in further section of the document.

Search Data

This feature allows users to search through a different API—specifically, the D&B API. However, there is no functionality for auto acceptance based on confidence codes or predefined rules. Users can view the auto acceptance rules but cannot apply them directly through this interface. This limits the ability to automate decisions based on the confidence scores associated with the data retrieved from the D&B API.

Note

The search results do not initially display a confidence code but are shown in a sequence. When a specific identifier is clicked, a detailed view reveals the confidence code. These responses are generated based on the settings configured under D&B- Identity Resolution, which uses a minimum match criterion. If the user updates this minimum match criterion and searches for the same company, no data may appear if the criteria are too restrictive. For customers who set a higher match threshold, they may notice fewer results being generated.

Users can also review a record from the search data. For further details, please refer to the Reports documentation.

Note

The search results are based on the Global Minimum Match Criteria set under Settings>>Identity Resolution.

When searching for companies listed under the US, the highest confidence code they can receive is 6, unless all other criteria are fully met.
